
Hello, I'm Ava
I’m a yoga teacher with a focus on mindful alignment, as I believe it supports a sustainable practice and helps unlock the full spectrum of yoga’s benefits. My classes begin by cultivating physical awareness—guiding students to explore how their bodies move and feel, with curiosity and care. With this foundation, students naturally deepen their connection to themselves and begin to move with greater confidence, ease, and inner awareness.
My Story
My yoga journey began while at university in my native China. After several years of daily practice, I turned my passion to my purpose by completing my yoga teacher training and starting to teach at a large Chinese chain of yoga studios.
Curious how the body works, I began to specialise in perfecting technique to avoid discomfort and improve alignment. This has influenced my teaching style as I pay attention to the unique needs of each student’s body, applying hands-on instruction where necessary.
After moving to the UK in 2022, I have continued to explore this technique-focused approach in my classes. Ultimately, I want my students to derive the same enjoyment I get from practising yoga and knowing my own body.
To further my knowledge and physical ability, I have attended workshops in China, India and the UK led by many world-famous yoga teachers and regularly practise the Ashtanga Mysore style of yoga.
